Funeral Sermon. by Christopher Harbin. The family would like to thank all of you who have gathered here to celebrate the life and legacy of Ms. Price. Your presence is a witness to the many lives she impacted in her short life. We gather today for several reasons. We gather to bid farewell to a loved one who has passed from this life into the next.   A good funeral sermon is considerate of the grief of those attending, affirms the lovingkindness of God, considers the question “why,” and points to Jesus as the Lord of life and death. There are few Biblical texts that cover all of these bases as well as that of Jesus raising Lazarus.

The Funeral Sermon: Remembering the Deceased GARY DREIER L et me state at the outset that the primary purpose of a funeral sermon is to praise God. I don’t know that it will interest all my readers, but this seems the best place to make it publicly available. —- Richard’s Memorial Service Sermon Romans Richard believed some pretty provocative things. And he was adamant that I share them with you this morning.   When Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's On Death and Dying burst upon the world in , hospital chaplains and those who trained pastoral counselors were among the first to endorse it. The psychological framing of death and dying with labels such as "denial" or "depression" was not a problem for pastoral counselors well accustomed to Carl Rogers.
